Miskolc – Hungary
Since the International Conference on Cave Lighting organized by the Hungarian Speleological Society in 2000, there has been a significant development in the personal lightings as well as in the illumination of the showcaves, which is mainly due to the evolution and application of the LED-technics.
This second conference aims to present and to discuss the results and experiences (advantages, possible disadvantages) of this more than one decade development on an international scale. Papers and posters related to the topic are expected in the following sections:
– new personal lightings for cavers,
– new illumination for the showcaves (economical aspects, aesthetics, its effects on the lamp flora),
– other related questions (e.g. history).
Official languages of the conference are English, German and Hungarian.
Participants are kindly requested to submit their abstracts and papers in English language.
The congress venue provides possibility for the participants to display and to sell newly developed lighting instruments.
Within the frames of the conference two showcaves (Baradla Cave in Aggtelek, and Anna Cave in Lillafüred), supplied with new LED illumination a few years ago, will also be presented.

Registration fee: 20 000 HUF, that includes the participation on the conference, the Abstracts, the Proceedings (after the conference), visits to the showcaves (a whole day excursion by bus with lunch), and the Closing Party.
Selling stand: 10 000 HUF.
Payment of the above fees is possible in cash at the registration. We can not accept credit cards.

Accommodation
Youth hostel within the campus of the University
in double-bed room: cca 3000 HUF/person/night
reserved for a single person cca 6000 HUF/person/night
At request, the accommodation will be booked by the organizer.
Please, indicate this request on the registration form. Payment is possible individually on the site.
Other accommodations are available in Miskolc or Miskolc-Tapolca that should be booked by the participants individually.
Meals
The canteen of the University serves a variety of dishes for Friday and Saturday lunch. Possibilities for further meals are in Miskolc-Tapolca.
Opening hours of the university buffet are 730–1600 on Thursday and Friday, and 730–1400 on Saturday.
The supermarket, situated 700–800 m from the University, is open until 8 pm.
