This will be the speleo-video-photo event of the year, full of news.
It is a good occasion to see some Sardinian caves, participate in the Italian National Congress of Speleology that starts on April 27th (and swim in the sea!).
Speleofotocontest is different from the traditional educational initiative, it will be an occasion for meeting, discussion and exchange of experiences between people that have in common their passion for cave photography.
It is open to everyone interested, with the intent of being enriched by the diverse contributions from each participant, as well as being an ideal opportunity to learn and improve the various of techniques of cave photography and video.
There will be many opportunities to meet and be familiarised with other forms of artistic impression (multimedia), not to mention the opportunity to discuss the works that each participant wants to present. There will also be opportunities for practical sessions in photography/video in the nearby Sardinian caves.
The Organising Comittee’s idea to start this event was in response to discussion on the Speleoit mailing list (Italian caving mailing list).
This is the third year of this event.
The programme includes several days dedicated to the projection of movies and to the exhibition of photographs in the competition. It is possible to participate in the competition by submitting work sufficiently in advance.
It is expected that there will be caving trips into “Grotta Su Mannau”, “Grotta di S. Pietro” and “Grotta di Santa Barbara” which can be reached from the S. Giovanni mine. The last of these caves is a real barite geode.
