News from Sossio Del Prete - Translated by Giuseppe Moro
While reminding the upcoming of the First Speleology Conference in Campania, that will be held in Oliveto Citra (Salerno) from 1st to 3rd June 2007, we wish to inform that, in addiction to the speech session you will have the opportunity to take part to the evening outdoor viewing of the movies “L’ombra del tempo” and “L’abisso”. The show will be followed by ethnic songs and dance; it will be also possible to take part in the excursions to the beautiful caves Profunnata and San Michele Nardantuono, wich includes ancient bizantine chapels and paintings aging to the IX-X
century A.C..
At the exposition area of the MiddleAge Castle in Oliveto, in the thematic showrooms will be displayed even the remains of cave bear and other Quaternary Mammals, recently discovered in the Grotta Milano in Petina (Alburni massif). Good food and typical wine from this land will not lack.
I wish, in the end, to express in the name of the Organizing Comitee, my fervent thank you for the great success of this new happening, that encourages us to take it on in future.
I wish t invite those who are planning to take part in the meeting, and mostly those who wish to take part to the visit of the caves, to write urgently to the organizative secretary
(segreteria@campaniaspeleologica.org), as we may be forced to close soon the registration.
Again, a sincere Thank You to everyone who supported, even only on the moral point of view, in the enterprise of this new Campanian adventure.
In the name of the Organizing Comitee
