In Pian Cansiglio arises “Bus della Genziana”

Let’s talk of “Bus della Genziana”.
During the 70’s, the new branch (also called “of the Little Green Men”) is explored by the Group coming from Vittorio Veneto and by some components of XXX October’s group. It is a long meander that seems to not have an end (a bit less than a kilometer). Just a little bit is known about its continuation. A question mark to its end, printed on the map, suggests for some narrow paths to open. The branch falls more or less into oblivion. Until now. May 2007: the group from Vittorio Veneto arranges two small steps (8 to 10 meters) of the branch with the intention to have a closer look to that unresolved doubt. August 2007: During the Cansiglio Expedition organized by groups coming from Ferrara, Urbino, Pordenone and Sacile, the speleologists visit the branch, carrying explosives and digging tools. Beyond the 30-metre narrow path, they find that those areas had already been visited in 1975, even if they were not reported on the survey map. Two days later, they are underground again. About 300 meters of tunnels are measured and mapped, while they explore new possible continuations. October 2007: Andrea and Valerio from Vittorio Veneto’s group reach the new tunnels and explore about 500 meters of a huge canyon and an area full of stalactites and stalagmites. November 2007: Valerio from Vittorio Veneto’s group and I explore about 700 meters of tunnels (sometimes enormous), reporting about 500 meters of them on the map. The most important thing is, however, to be aware to be entered in a large network of big canyons, overhung by a maze of fossil tunnels that “float” to approximately 150 meters below the meadows of Pian Cansiglio. The predominant direction of these galleries is rightly to ENE, in the direction of “Bus della Lum” and of the “Col di Rizza Abyss”. Last trip (December 2007): Are attending to the journey Valerio from Vittorio Veneto, Roberto Corsi from Ferrara, Simone Scarselli and Luigi Russo from Città di Castello, Giovanni Bardino from Urbino and I. The aim is to move as much as possible below the plan. And the goal came true. The huge canyon where we walk through is really long; “Cansiglio Mon Amour” might be the name of the canyon. The forks are numerous, all blacks. Beyond the black, here is the white. On our heads peep out the dried galleries that say “hello boys, we are waiting for you.”. One of them will be called “ADopo”.
