During the last months of 2007 the Bergamo’s group has restarted an exploration exit to the Crevazza Fruttari (one of the most important abysses in the Arera Peak in the italian Pre-Alps) with three teams. The photographic team is devoted to the Pit of Speck, up to -114 m. The team “deep” has checked a different way to descent along the Pit Archimede, going back to the notorious “Caviale” fund (-260 around) without finding windows noteworthy. The team “transversal”, has finally tried a control to the high parts of the “Podzilla” pit (153m). After some meters of an aerial sub-horizontal progression and one climbing again (wet) of around 30 meters, the explorers are found before two routes. Chosen the airiest street and gone through three narrow un-banal passages, they are stopped to the beginning of a vertical climbing for ended ropes. Now the new ramification is not topographed and it is difficult to say what can offer. Unfortunately it would seem to theoretically aim in opposite direction to the connectable abysses (Increduli first). Realize that the “Podzilla” is around 200 meters in total deep, considering it seems to continue well upward. Also the friends cavers of Brescia (ASB group) participated to the expedition.
Participants: C. Brescianini, M. Gerosa, G. Pannuzzo, M. Sassi, GP Foti, G. Frassine, R. Gaiti.

The caving clubs of Ferrara and Vittorio Veneto have wrote down some new exploration plans for the Bus de la Genziana (Genziana Cave: genziana is a mountain flower - Gentiana Lutea L.- n.d.r.), the most known cave of the “Pian Cansiglio”. Pian Cansiglio is a limestone plateau which lies at the border between the regions of Veneto and Friuli - Venezia Giulia, in NE Italy.
The Genziana, as it is also simply known, was discovered in the early 1960’s during the widening works of the local state road. Caver were prevented from entering it for some years but they eventually gained access and quickly explored it to a depth of -582m. The leading clubs at the time were the newborn local one More About.. »

After months of waiting, due to various unexpected event, this weekend (17 november n.d.r.) we were able to return to the deep of the Abyss of the “Due Increduli”.
Particularly, the low temperatures and the small rains of the last weeks allowed us to obtain favorable water conditions up to around -520, while the big tributary arriving from the Zombie’s branches maintained a discreet course that, even without blocking the access to the -620 siphon, immediately demolished our illusions to find it, more or less, empty.
In effects, the level of the siphon was nearly equal to that one measured in the past. At this point we proceeded with our intent, i.e to try to travel the several partially flooded branches, searching for a passage with air flow. More About.. »

Cause the interest aroused by the text “Percorsi Ipogei, alla ricerca di nuove grotte utilizzando il termometro” (Ipogean paths new caves using the thermometer”), I had prepared only fifty copies to give to the friends, I have prepared a blog where who is interested can unload the pdf. to the following address http://meteogrotte.blog.kataweb.it I premise that it deals with a text wrote in simple way, without formulas and equations, so to approach, to this fascinating matter, who has been rejected from specialistic volumes not easy to read.

After almost twenty years Malo’s group has returned to Camino dell’Eco and the branch that overtop it, to replace the old rigs. At the base of the enormous landslide, that had stopped since that time the explorers, a void under the rocks and the curiosity of a young trainee have given almost half kilometer of new galleries. The new branch advances toward west for 60 meters and emerges in an ample fireplace-hall from which four ramifications depart. The north ramification begins with beautiful phreatic ducts, that remind the roman aqueducts with semi-barrel dome and develop in a network of More About.. »
