Una spedizione speleosubacquea del National Geographic effettuata recentemente a Cuba, ha riportato alla luce i resti fossili di una specie di bradipo ormai estinto.
I ritrovamenti di fossili in grotta sono abbastanza frequenti, ma finora di Bradipo cavernicolo ne conoscevo solo uno!

Extinct Sloth Fossils Discovered In Underwater Cave Divers made a rare discovery of extinct giant sloths in a Cuban cave. Geographer and National Geographic grantee Matthew Peros and his team found fossils of three extinct sloth species in an underwater cave near Varadero. Underwater caves with extinct animal remains are extremely rare. Peros hopes to learn more about ancient climate and environment from studying the remains.
