The International Union of Speleology (UIS) has the high honor of being invited to hold the opening ceremony of the International Year of Caves and Karst (IYCK) at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
Caves have never had such a high international stage to teach the world about their importance.
Unfortunately, because of the continuing COVID pandemic, the opening will now be a UIS virtual event on the same day, 26 January 2021.
The UIS and UNESCO are looking for a date later in 2021 for a celebration of the IYCK at UNESCO Headquarters.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged. No program or activity is too small.
