IWIC is a series of workshops devoted entirely to ice cave research. Previous meetings were in Romania, Slovak Republic, Russia, Austria, Italy and United States of America. Now Slovenia hosts this unique workshop.
IWIC VII meeting is organized under the auspices of the Glacier, Firn, and Ice Caves Commission of the International Union of Speleology, the host of the event is Karst Research Institute ZRC of Slovene Academy of Science and Arts.
We offer a place to examine the state-of-the-art, discuss ongoing research efforts and encourage international cooperation. Workshop is an ideal opportunity to widen communication among interested researchers and present important research results and in fieldtrips visit local ice caves.
Place of the IWIC VII is Postojna that is located in the centre of Classical Karst. During the workshop participants will have an opportunity to visit some ice caves and related phenomena both in the karst
of Southern Alps and Dinaric Mountains.

Important dates and deadlines
Registration with full fees: until May 13
Registration fee for the whole week May 16–22
• Late registration fee after March 1: regular 300 €, students 250 €
Payment of the fee will be also possible with cash on the post office or at bank in Postojna, information will be given at the registration.
Registration includes: printed materials, excursions, lunch on the whole day excursions, visit of
tourist caves Postojnska jama and Škocjanske jame, refreshments during coffee breaks, attendance to the Cave Ice Braking Party at the Karst Research Institute and Farewell dinner on Saturday.
If you are interested on optional workshop field trips please contact us. We can make some special arrangements to caves guided by cavers from local speleological clubs.
Registration is possible only online and will be open from December 2015 until May 13, 2016.
